The word "Merry" before Christmas says it all. It is a festival of happiness and is most liked by children all across the world. Magnificent gifts, melodious songs, and mouthwatering cakes embark Christmas. In India too, Christmas has its own charm. It is celebrated with equal zeal and excitement. Many preparations are done on this day ranging from decorating Christmas tree to exchanging gifts to delectable recipes.

1. Plum Cake
Plum Cake and Christmas are relatively related to each other. Both complement each other. I still remember my college days when I visited a Church during Christmas and had that lip-smacking plum cake after the prayer. Simply whisk one cup butter, one and a half cup powdered sugar, around 6 eggs, and a spoonful of vanilla essence together and keep aside. In another bowl sieve all-purpose flour and a pinch of baking powder and a pinch of baking soda. Add dried cherries, plums and walnuts to the mixture. Mix in both dry and wet ingredients together. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees and bake the mixture for 30-40 minutes. Your sumptuous plum cake is ready to relish.
2. Christmas Coffee
Now you all must be thinking what’s new in this!!! Coffee is a basic drink and is made in almost each and every household. But when it comes to Christmas this simple drink also becomes extraordinary. Melt one bar of dairy milk chocolate and keep aside. Now take half a cup of boiled water and add one tsp of instant coffee. Pour in boiling milk and stir. Now add dairy milk chocolate syrup and sugar as per taste. Garnish with whipped cream and chopped nuts. Your sizzling hot Christmas special coffee is ready.
3. Chocolate Surprise
Everybody is fond of chocolates and so am I. And so when it is about Christmas, chocolates has to be given a special place. One such recipe is no bake chocolate cookies. Grind one packet of Parle G biscuits into a fine powder. Add a small can of milkmaid and cocoa powder and mix properly. Add chocolate chips to the mixture. Spread the thick layer of mixture on a greased plate and chill for three to four hours to let the cookies set. After the cookies are set, cut them into the shape of your choice and enjoy.

In a bowl whisk eggs (3 to 4 in number), powdered sugar, oil, and vanilla essence evenly. In another bowl sieve all purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda and cinnamon powder. Now add grated carrots, raisins, walnuts and wet mixture and mix well. Pour the mixture into a greased bowl and bake in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or till the cake is properly cooked.
