5 Life Savior Dishes To Try When You're Hungry & Home Alone.

We all come across a time when we are home alone, hungry and our biggest nightmare at this time is 'financially broke' too. Your tummy keeps craving for some food and you keep banging your head thinking what to do.

Don't you worry we got your back, there are some dishes which you too can make. Trust us it won't be a rocket science or you don't have to go through Master Chef's episodes. So to help you out we got some dishes that are easy and quick to make, also it will not cost you much. Lets start with dishes you can cook on your own.

1. Egg-Maggi.

Well! who is not aware of maggi? It has been a savior since childhood. All you need to make Egg-Maggi is a packet of maggi noodles and eggs. Also onion, spice powder, garlic and salt according to your preference. It will hardly take 12-15 minutes.

How to make: Chop onion and garlic finely Take 2 cups of water and keep it to boil. Add the noodles to it with few drops of oil. Make sure you don't over cook noodles so switch off the flame once it turns soft, drain the water and keep it aside. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic to it. Once they turn brownish, add chopped onions and fry till they turn translucent. Mix it well, cook on a low flame till the vegetables turn soft. Take a bowl to beat the eggs and add it to the vegetables. Scramble the egg and once it is cooked, add the taste maker and mix well. Saute for a minute and add cooked noodles, mix noodles and masala well. Cook for half or a minute and turn off the flames. Your Egg-Maggi is ready to eat.

2. Curd Rice.

Too easy if you know to make rice. Just mix it together and put sugar or salt as per your preference and have it peacefully.

3. Phodnicha Bhaat.

Popular in Maharashtrians, Phodincha Bhaat is usually made from leftover rice. Usually we never end up eating all the rice made so you can make the use of leftover rice to save yourself from hunger. An easy to make recipe and it will hardly cost you a penny. All it takes is onion, turmeric powder, cumin seeds and mustard seeds, green chilly if you want it spicy. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to cook it.

How to make: Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, once it is popped add cumin (jeera) seeds. Take the green chillies and kadi patta, saute them for a minute or two. Now its turn to chop onions(remember we are not master chefs, so be careful) also sprinkle some salt. Cook till the onions become translucent and then add turmeric powder and lil red chilli powder. Don't forget to mix it well and cook it for a minute. Now its turn to add the cooked rice and let it get heated for 2-3 minutes. Time to turn of the gas and add a few drops of lemon juice for taste. Mix it well and it is ready to eat. You can have it with curd to enjoy your meal more.

Usually we eat bhurji of scrambled eggs but why don't you try a variation in this dish by making it from boiled eggs. It needs egg, onion, garlic, tomato, green chilli, jeera, pinch of turmeric powder, red chilli, corriander powder and 2 tbsp of oil. It will take your 15-16 minutes so not to worry.

How to make: Boil eggs hard and meanwhile finely chop onion, garlic and tomato, also green chilli as per your taste. Take two tbsp oil in a pan and cumin (jeera) seeds, wait till the cumin seeds crackle then add chopped onions and garlic. Saute till the onions turn light brown. Fry for a couple of minutes and add chopped boiled eggs. After boiling eggs let it cool down. Remove the shells and chop the eggs into 1-2 inch pieces, keep it aside. Saute till the eggs are mixed with the masala for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli. Mix it well and add turmeric powder, corriander powder, garma masala and chilli powder. Add salt according to your taste. Turn of the gas and garnish it with some coriander leaves. Eat with bread or toasted bread slices.

5. Sandwiches or Toast Sandwich.

After maggi, this is the dish we all must be knowing and very common in bachelors. When you want to avoid junk foods, sandwiches can be a really good alternative in matters of nutrition. You need to get bread slices, butter, tomatoes, onion, beetroot, boiled potatoes, chaat masala and green chutney. It will not take more than 15 minutes as said.

How to make: Boil the potatoes. Take onion, beetroot, tomato and potato, cut it into slices. Take bread slice and apply butter & chutney on it. Now place the vegetable slices on bread and sprinkle chaat masala and salt on it. In case of toast sandwich mash the potato and rest is the same, keep it in the griller till the required time. Your sandwich is ready to eat. Enjoy it with your favorite sauces and chutney.
