Yes! Your whole life was a lie if you didn't know this. In our day to day life you come across so many facts which are either true or false we don't bother to know, without caring about this we move forward and tell the same facts to the next person we meet and it goes on...
So we got some vegetables here which are actually fruits and we are sure many of you didn't know this. Let's first know what is a fruit? The sweet and fleshy product of a tree or other plant that contains seed and can be eaten as food. So usually a product which contains seed is a fruit.
1. Tomato.
Yes! Yes! we all have heard about it that tomato is a fruit. It can be answered by 60% of us. Don't kill your curiosity here, much more are yet to come.
2. Cucumber.
So is the cucumber but surely 35-40% of us know about cucumber.
3. Avocado
You might have heard about it but tasted? I don't think so. Most of the fruits consist of carbohydrates but this fruit is rich in fats, let me specify 'healthy fats'. Also, it is very nutritious with 20 vitamins and minerals. It is popularly called as "Pearse Americana" and sometimes "Aligator pear" due to its pear shape structure and green bumpy skin.
Btw only 15% people know that avocado is a fruit.

4. Pumpkin.
Fruit? No it's a halloween lantern. Well beside being associated with halloween lantern it is a fruit too. Don't be shocked, though pumpkin is eaten like a vegetable but as it comes from a seed bearing plant so it is under fruit category.
Don't feel wasted, only 9% knew this. I think they might be from botany :P
5. Aubergine.
So is the Aubergine! Umm.. what is that? Garden egg, what is that now? Eggplant, Whaaat? 'BRINJAL'. Okay!! Don't know why it has so many names to confuse us. Also, it fooled us of being a vegetable but it's a fruit.

6. Courgette.
Also called as Zucchini, looks like cucumber right? It can grow to a meter in length but usually harvested immature at 15-25cm. Eat it raw or cooked it'll hit you with loads of nutrients. Known by around 16% that it is a fruit.
7. Pepper
Pepper or 'Shimla Mirch' is actually a fruit which is mistaken by many as a vegetable. As it comes from a flowering plant it is placed under fruit section which we never had an idea. Well, fruit or vegetable we'll keep using it in our salads. 10% knew it is a fruit, but how??
8. Bitter Gourd.
Bitter Gourd or Bitter Melon or call it 'Karela' we still can't believe it is an actually a fruit, not vegetable. It has many medicinal properties. Bitter gourd juice is consumed to lower bad cholesterol levels, maintaining blood sugar level, lustrous hair and glowing skin etc. BTW it is also good for hangovers ;) Hardly 2% knew it is a fruit, don't ask me how.
9. Olives
It is as confusing as Popeye's Olive used to be. People often debate but botanical specification answers everything. Yes, it is a fruit too. Olives are a good source of dietary fibres, iron, vitamin-E and have cardiovascular benefits. 3% know it is a fruit.
10. Butternut Squash.
Rich in potassium, dietary fibre, and protein, Butternut squash is sometimes known in Australia and New Zealand as butternut pumpkin or gramma is a type of winter squash that grows on a vine. It has a sweet, nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin. 6 % of you can place it in the fruit section.
11. Pea-pods.
Surprise!! Yes, Pea-pods are a fruit too and no one had an idea about this. Only 1%(don't know who :P) can recognize it as a fruit.
Here was the list of vegetables that are actually fruits. Too much confusion right? wait let us confuse you more. Strawberry, Raspberry and Blackberry are actually not berries. And Banana, Watermelon and Aubergine(which we stated as fruit) are actually berries. Ground nuts are not nuts, they are legumes so are the pea-pods.
