So, here are a few all time favorite Indian Sitcoms.
1. Dekh Bhai Dekh:
“Iss rang badalti duniya main kya tera hai kya mera hai? Dekh Bhai Dekh Oh Dekh Bhai Dekh” Already nostalgic Right! One of the most popular Indian Sitcoms ever “Dekh Bhai Dekh,” was an original comedy show portraying the daily life in a Joint Family filled with lots of humor and comedy giving the audience a dose of tackling family issues with laughter. Created by Aanand Mahendru and produced by Jaya Bachchan, it starred Shekhar Suman, Sushma Seth, Farida Jalal, Bhavna Balsawar etc in lead roles.
2. Tu Tu Main Main:
Another top-notch Indian Comedy is “Tu Tu Main Main”. Based on daily fights between Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law, this sitcom made us laugh out loud with its quirky sense of humor between the leading ladies of the show. It was directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar and stared Reema Lagoo, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Kuldeep Pawar & Mahesh Thakur in lead.

4. Sarabhai vs Sarabhai:
And here we add our favorite one to the list of popular Indian Sitcoms is “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai”. The show has classic comic characters played by Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak, Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguli & Rajesh Kumar in lead. The story is about an ultimate Upper Class gujju family from Sobo. The characters themselves create their own stories with one another, be it father-son relationship, mother-son relationship, or mother-in-law & daughter-in-law relationship, or brother-brother relationship. Its just too funny to see these relationships groom in comic way adding high level of sarcasm, where despite of their differences they bear each other & stay as a family.
5. Hum Paanch:
How can we forget “Hum Paanch”, a family sitcom of a father who is always in trouble because of his 5 daughters. Generally two daughters are more than enough to be handled by a father, just imagine handling five such daughters! Starring Ashok Saraf, Vidya Balan, Rakhee Tondon, Bhairavi Raichura & Vandana Pathak, the show became an Iconic Indian Sitcom.
