When it comes to sweets we Indians have many options, we lose our minds on the variety of sweet dishes our moms cook. There is always an enticing sweet dish on the side of our plates, waiting for us to decipher, on any given occasion. We Indians celebrate every single festival listed on the calendar with great enthusiasm and gratitude. It gives our mothers the utmost pleasure to feed us our favourite sweet dishes, specially made for the coming festive occasion.
Festivals, yes we Indians never fall short of those, Diwali ho ya Holi there is always a significant sweet dish accompanying our meal. So let's talk about some of those tasteful sweet dishes that might leave you guys foodgasm forever.

Gulab jamun
I am sure this popular sweet is a favourite for some of you guys. Gulab Jamun is highly favourable due to its sweet sugary taste, it is often a part of our meal on special occasions. Popular in every Indian community, here or abroad, these sweet balls of heaven will surely make your day.
Gajar ka Halwa
What, you don’t like carrots? Make Halwa out of it. Gajar ka halwa is a special sweet dish made from carrots and milk and sugar, believe me, this trio, when garnished with dry fruits, takes it on another level of “tasty”.
Modak
This sweet is often associated with religion, God and also is a long lost cousin of momos. Modak, considered to be a favourite sweet of Lord Ganesha, is mostly cooked during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Popular in Maharashtrian households these sweet dumplings can be steamed or fried. Sheer Khurma is a festive dish of great importance for Muslims. It is served traditionally as a breakfast after prayer on the auspicious day of Eid ul-fitr, this explains its great emphasis. Having a Muslim friend who treats everyone with this amazing home cooked sweet was a thing back then when we were kids. I am sure everyone of us has had a chance to savour this delicacy and appreciate its palatability.
